SANLAM CAPE TOWN MARATHON - THE MOTHER CITY MARATHON

Running for me has always been about achieving very personal goals. Those goals have changed over the years but it remained very personal. As a professional athlete it certainly was about running the fastest times I could - which resulted in breaking many records and winning many races.

Like anyone who has ever laced-up a pair of running shoes, I have always dreamed of running a marathon. To me the marathon is the ultimate goal of every serious runner. Whether a weekend warrior or an international athlete, your running career is simply not complete until you have completed the mystical 42.2km journey. Don't get me wrong, I loved running on the track whether at school in Albertinia or at the Olympic Games. Likewise cross country and road events were exciting challenges. But the marathon is where you pit yourself against others, and most importantly – yourself.

Be part of this journey in getting the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon to Gold!

Every ASICS running shoe begins with 5 principles in mind – and where the shoe sits in each of these areas defines what kind of shoe it is. Each shoe is defined within 5 attributes, each one having a spectrum that goes from one extreme to the other.       Zinc is vital for the healthy functioning of the immune system. Individuals with low zinc intakes are more prone to catching colds, because low levels of zinc in the body weakens the immune system. White blood and other immune cells require zinc to fight off infections.
