If you are Not Registered on the Cape Town Marathon Runners Portal:
Step 1. Register on the Cape Town Marathon website portal (it's not the same system as the Howler Race entry system) - https://capetownmarathon.com/register
Step 2. Fill in the form and add your ID or passport number (exactly per the Howler entry system). If it's not the same, you will not find past results or photos of the 2023 Cape Town Marathon.
Step 3. If your ID number is incorrect or needs to be changed, it must be corrected on the Howler Entry System first. Login to Howler and update your ID here - https://capetownmarathon.howler.co.za/user_setup
Yes, I have registered on the Cape Town Marathon Runners Portal.
Step 1. Make sure your ID number is the same as per the Cape Town Marathon Entry system - https://capetownmarathon.howler.co.za/user_setup
Step 2. Log out of the Runners Portal - https://capetownmarathon.com/logout/. This will reset the system to link and match your passport or ID.
Step 3. Click on "Portal" in the menu and then drop down to "Dashboard" - here is where you will find your 2024 Cape Town Marathon photos.
Note: if you get the message "no photos found, " click on this link and use the find function to look for your photos using your 2024 race number only.
Ps: If there are still no photos, then we are as disappointed as you are to say that we must have missed you on the route from start to finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
There are three ways to qualify for the championships.
Full details here.
- Top-ranked athletes from each age group will be invited to the 2026 World Championships when the 2025 rankings season closes.
- If you achieve the 2026 Championship qualifying time for your age group during 2025, you can enter the Championship event shortly after your qualifying result is processed by AbbottWMM
- The AbbottWMM Global Marathon, held within the Global Run Club, has 200 places available for the fastest verified finishers. Visit the Global Run Club for complete details.
The qualifying window for the 2026 Age Group World Championship runs from January 1 2025 to December 31 2025.
However, due to the date of the 2026 event and planning for the 2027 championships, the 2025 rankings will close on September 30th 2025 (with the following rankings period running from October 1st 2025 to September 30th 2026).
If the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon secures its second pass in its candidacy to join the AbbottWMM Series in October 2025, the 2026 event will be its first edition as a Major and all official finishers – including Age Group World Championship participants – will be awarded a star.
If the race does not gain its second pass after the 2025 event, Age Group World Championship finishers in 2026 will receive a provisional star from the 2026 event. This will be upgraded to a full star upon successful completion of Cape Town’s candidacy.
