Event Transport Guide
You’ve put in the hours, logged the kilometres, and done the hard work — don’t let getting to the start line be the part that gets you sweating.
To help you plan; we’ve listed the various transport options below, each option goes into further detail to guide you every step of the way.
Free Shuttle Transport
For all participants and spectators attending the Expo, Start and Finish Area.

Fri - 08:30 - 22:00
Sat - 05:30 – 16:30
Sun Start - 05:30 - 06:45*
Sun Return - 11:00 - 17:30
*No V&A Waterfront Shuttle on Sunday morning to the Marathon Start.

V&A Waterfront
Paid Parking
The V&A has more than 7500 open-air and underground parking bays. V&A parking rates apply.

There are four stops to choose from: Waterfront, Aquarium, Marina or Silo

Thurs - 08:30 - 19:30
Fri - 08:30 - 22:00
Sat - 05:30 – 16:30
Sun Start - No Shuttle
Sun Return - 11:00 - 17:30

If you are planning to park at the V&A Waterfront on Sunday morning, please ensure you are at your Start by 07h30. No crossing of Beach Rd and Portswood Rd will be allowed after 07h30 due to the Wheelchair Race starting at 07h50.

Green Point Parking
Street Parking is available on Thursday, but limited from 08h00 on Friday to Sunday due to parking restrictions being implemented.
Three parking areas:
P9: Available on Thursday and Friday for EXPO Days (not Sat or Sun) - Location point is here:
P12 and P13: Available on Thursday, Friday & Saturday (not Sun) - Location point is here:

Canal Walk Paid Parking and Shuttle
Only available for Sunday, 24 May 2026.

Canal Walk Parking:
Secure paid parking is available. Standard parking rates apply.

UCT Paid Shuttle and Parking
Only available for Sunday, 24 May 2026.
Shuttle Times:
First bus leaves at 05:30
Last bus leaves at 06:30
First return bus leaves 11:00

UCT Parking:
Parking is available at UCT at a first come first serve basis.
Tickets:
Must be presented before boarding.

Bus Services Paid
MyCiTi Bus:
MyCiti is Cape Town's modern Bus Rapid Transit offering an affordable, and convenient way to travel. Myconnect cards can be purchased at kiosks for R40.
Road closures will be implemented on Saturday and Sunday and therefore will impact the MyCiTi Services. Please make use of our free event shuttle service on these days.
City Sightseeing Bus:
When travelling on this bus on Thursday or Friday we recommend getting off at Stop 12 (Green Point) and walk through the Green Point Park to visit the Expo at the DHL Stadium.

e-Hailing to Cape Town CBD
Uber is the most widely used e-hailing service in Cape Town.
Drop-off and collection points are indicated on the map.
CTICC:

e-Hailing to Green Point
Uber is the most widely used e-hailing service in Cape Town.
Access to these parking areas close on Sunday morning at 05h45 however drop-offs and collections can still take place on Main Rd Green Point.

Train Service
The easiest way to plan your journey is using Google Maps.
Add your destination as Cape Town Station and choose the train mode of transport. Add the time that you would like to arrive at the Station. Google Maps will indicate the closest train station and the schedule.
Take the Shuttle to the Stadium:
From the Cape Town Station follow the directional signage to Thibault MyCiTi Station. It is a 10min walk from Cape Town Station to Thibault MyCiTi Station.

Accredited Bus Service
Local and international tour operators may apply for accredited bus parking for both Expo and Event Days. Designated parking will be available in P14 and P15.
Please note: Access to this parking area will close at 07h30 on Sunday, 24 May, due to scheduled road closures.
On Sunday morning, marshals will be stationed to direct runners to either the Beach Road Start or the Stadium Start
Bus Accreditation:
Please complete the application for bus accreditation by 17 April. Confirmed routes and the accreditation collection point will be communicated by 30 April.

Bicycle Park
If you are a runner or spectator planning on cycling to the Expo or Race Village, please make use of our free bicycle park in P4 which is close to the Stadium Start. This is a secure area to store your bicycle - located here:

Pedestrian Routes
If you are planning on walking from your Green Point, V&A Waterfront or Mouille Point accommodation to your Start, please familiarise yourself with the main pedestrian routes.
Marshals will be in place from 05h00 to direct runners to the start on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
